The decision
Our view: a premium mouse is easiest to justify when you can name the repeated actions it will simplify. Write down three commands you use every day. Find out whether you can assign them in your actual applications.
Separate hardware from software
Logitech ties customization to Logi Options+, available for Windows and macOS. A mouse connecting to another operating system does not establish that every advertised feature will work there. Linux users should verify their specific workflow before buying for those extras.
Try the fit
Check reach, grip and desk space in person if possible. Neither a high sensor number nor an extra button establishes that the shape will suit your hand. We have not measured comfort, reliability or productivity improvements.
Our buying rule
Upgrade when the supported shortcuts and physical fit solve a daily problem. Keep your current mouse if the appeal rests mainly on a headline productivity percentage. Your own repeated task is a more useful comparison than a marketing average.
